Three soldiers were killed while exchanging fire with militants in Zarghoon, Marget area of Balochistan, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday. The militants attacked a security forces check-post that had recently been established to prevent extortion efforts targeting coal mines in the area.

The military officials stated that the troops on the post retaliated immediately, pushing back the terrorists. However, in the ensuing heavy exchange of fire, three soldiers were killed while one militant was neutralized by the security forces.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Sipahi Zameer Ahmed, Sipahi Mudassir Shaheed, and Lance Naik Abdul Qadeer.

As per the ISPR, security forces have identified a potential hideout of the fleeing terrorists near the mountains through a follow-up Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operation. In response, a deliberate blocking and sanitisation operation has been launched. The anti-terrorist operation is progressing well, and security forces are maintaining pressure to prevent the militants from escaping from the area.

The statement further emphasized that the security forces remain determined to thwart any attempts at sabotaging peace, stability, and progress in Balochistan.
