Angelina Jolie is reportedly frightened at the thought of being left alone as her children grow older and find partners. The Maleficent star’s son, Maddox, is ready to start dating, but Jolie is afraid of losing her son.
Although Jolie does not want to hold her 21-year-old son back from dating anyone, she wants him to make wise choices when finding a partner.
A source close to Jolie told Heat Magazine that she is “petrified” of the idea of her kids moving out and leaving her alone. “Maddox is ready to meet that special someone, but Angelina’s wary,” the insider said. “She’s fiercely protective of all her kids in this way, especially Maddox, who’s always been the apple of her eye and her main protector.”
The insider added that Jolie wouldn’t mind if her son stayed single for years to come because she is so attached to her kids and afraid of them leaving. However, Jolie insists to Maddox that she’s not trying to block him from dating, but he needs to be wise with his choices.
“He trusts his mum totally, but he’s at that age now where he really wants to get out there and make his own choices,” the insider explained. “He respects that her intentions are good, but at almost 22, it’s time to be his own man and dive into the dating scene.”
Angelina Jolie shares Maddox along with Pax, Zahara, Shiloh Knox, and Vivienne. The children are with her ex-husband Brad Pitt.
