Ashley Johnson, best known for her role as Ellie in The Last of Us video game series and Ellie’s mother in the TV adaptation, has recently filed a restraining order against her former boyfriend, Brian Wayne Foster. The move comes as a result of a series of disturbing incidents that Johnson has accused him of. These include alleged abuse, threats, and extortion attempts.
Johnson and Foster had been in a relationship since 2012 and even lived together. They announced their engagement in 2018 but Johnson decided to end the relationship in March of this year. Johnson has cited Foster’s drug use as a catalyst for his erratic behavior.
According to Johnson, she has endured “many acts of terror” and verbal abuse at the hands of Foster. Fearing for her safety and the safety of her family, Johnson was compelled to flee her home and file an emergency restraining order on May 15. In the legal document, she described Foster as being “close to the edge” with the potential to cause harm not only to her but also to her family.
A hearing regarding the restraining order is scheduled for June 9.
