During a performance of ‘Tina Turner The Musical’ in London’s West End, the audience was informed during the interval that the legendary singer Tina Turner had passed away. A clip on TikTok shows the cast members solemnly announcing the news, which is followed by an audible gasp from the audience.
The news left many members of the audience in tears as they were leaving the Aldwych Theatre. One father, who had brought his son to watch the performance, described the moment as “jaw-dropping.”
Tina Turner had been struggling with an undisclosed long illness and passed away at the age of 83 at her home in Switzerland. The actor in the theatre shared the news with the audience, saying:
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Tina Turner has passed away today. Words can’t express the feelings of our company, so we look at each other and we look to you, in this moment today, right now, to tell this woman’s remarkable story.”
