Beyoncé and Jay-Z have made headlines for purchasing a $200 million mansion in Malibu, California. The mansion, designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, sits on the waterfront in the area fronting the Billionaires’ Row. According to TMZ, the 30,000 sq-ft mansion has set a new record as the most expensive home sold in the state, surpassing the previous record of $177 million in 2021. The mansion’s previous owner was reportedly Bill Bell Jr, son of the opera Bold and Beautiful and The Young and the Restless creators, as per The Real Deal.
Despite the impressive purchase, some fans of the power couple had mixed reactions. On social media, many users expressed their disappointment and disbelief at the astronomical amount of money spent on the mansion. Some fans commented that the house does not seem worth the price, while others said Beyoncé could have purchased a prettier house.
One user even compared the mansion to a house in the video game The Sims, joking that it looks like the most simple house in The Sims 3. Some fans also called out the couple’s wealth, stating that no person in normal society should have so much money.
Overall, while the purchase has set a record in the real estate sector, it seems that not all of the fans of Beyoncé and Jay-Z are impressed by their latest acquisition.
