Beyoncé has teamed up with Kendrick Lamar to release a new remix of her popular song “America Has a Problem.” The latest version of the song was released on May 19, with Lamar delivering an impressive opening verse in his signature rapid-fire style. In the verse, he refers to himself as an “honorary Beyhive” and delivers powerful lines about choosing love over violence and how America has a problem.
This is not the first time the two have collaborated. Kendrick Lamar was featured on Beyoncé’s 2016 album Lemonade on the track “Freedom,” which topped the Billboard 200 chart. The duo also performed together at the BET Awards that same year, showcasing their undeniable chemistry on stage.
In a 2017 cover feature for Rolling Stone, Kendrick Lamar discussed the lessons he learned from working with Beyoncé. He praised her perfectionism and attention to detail, especially during their BET Awards performance.
Beyoncé is currently busy with her Renaissance World Tour, which began on May 10 in Stockholm and will continue throughout Europe until July 9. She will then head to North America for shows in cities like Toronto, Philadelphia, and Chicago before ending in New Orleans on September 27.
