Actress Divya Dutta revealed that she initially rejected the offer to star in the film ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ because of her huge crush on co-star Farhan Akhtar.
In a recent interview with ‘Pinkvilla’, Divya shared that she did not want to play Farhan’s sister in the movie. She said, “I wasn’t doing it because I had a huge crush on Farhan at that time. I said, ‘Why should I play his sister?’ Rakeysh said but you are an actor, you are a professional. I said yeah but… you know…”
However, the director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra explained to her that the story is primarily about the relationship between a brother and sister. Therefore, she eventually agreed to play the role.
During the filming, Divya shared that when her character received gold earrings as a gift from Farhan’s character Milkha, she couldn’t help but imagine how their relationship would end. The scene turned out to be emotional, with Divya’s character saluting Milkha.
‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ was released in 2013, featuring Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor, and Divya Dutta in lead roles.
