Eamonn Holmes, a well-known Irish broadcaster, has finally spoken out after Phillip Schofield resigned from their joint show, This Morning. The announcement came after Schofield spent 21 years on the show amid rumours of a feud with his co-host, Holly Willoughby. Previously, Holmes had criticised both hosts and insisted that they leave the program.

In his statement, Schofield explained his decision: “I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story. Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind. I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.”

However, Holmes has remained quiet on the announcement. The only reference to it was a recent Instagram post of himself with his granddaughter. The caption read: “Pappa got a smacker. Thank u Emilia. All in all that rounded off what turned out to be a good day.”
