At least eight Pakistani Umrah pilgrims lost their lives and several others were injured in a hotel fire that broke out in Makkah. The death toll was confirmed by the Pakistan Consul Welfare office, which disclosed that four of the deceased have been identified, including two pilgrims from Kasur and two from Vihari.
The Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed that the death toll has reached eight while six injured individuals are receiving medical treatment. Immediate measures have been taken by the Pakistan Foreign Office, and its officials are working closely with local authorities to provide complete support to the victims and their families.
The tragedy has elicited messages of condolence from different quarters, including Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori. The governor’s spokesperson expressed solidarity with the affected families and offered unwavering support in their time of pain.
