Harrison Ford recently announced at a press conference that he is bidding farewell to Indiana Jones after the release of the fifth installment and plans to take a break from acting. When asked if the new sequel retires the character, he replied, “Is it not evident? I need to sit down and rest a little bit. I love working, and I loved the character and what it brought into my life, and that’s all I can say.”
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the fifth and final part of the Indiana Jones series, was created to conclude the character’s storyline, as per Ford. While thanking everyone for supporting him throughout his career, Ford also expressed his gratitude towards the franchise for giving him the opportunity to play the iconic character.
Ford was enthusiastic about the de-aging CGI effects used in the film, saying that they turned out to be “very realistic.” Furthermore, he stated that he is happy to have grown older and would not like to go back to his younger version. He loves being old and still wants to work, telling good stories.
The fifth part, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, will release in theaters on June 30, marking the end of the Indiana Jones franchise.
