Musician Jack Harlow made his acting debut with Hulu’s remake of the 1992 film, White Men Can’t Jump. The film’s director, Calmatic, was impressed by Jack’s acting performance and believes that he will soon be known for his acting prowess rather than his music.

During the Los Angeles premiere of the movie on May 11th, 2023, Calmatic shared with The Hollywood Reporter his opinion of Jack’s acting. “No matter what he does, it doesn’t feel fake or forced. I think once he started acting and things got real on that end, it was like, yo man, he’s doing his thing, this is special.”

Calmatic went further to say that Jack’s acting skills are impressive and expects him to be known as an actor who raps well, and not the other way around. “I was telling him, ‘I think 10 years from now, you’re going to be Jack Harlow the actor who knows how to rap well,’ so hopefully that’s what it is.”

The film is a remake of the 1992 basketball classic, with Jack taking on the role Woody Harrelson played in the original. The role of Wesley Snipes is played by Sinqua Walls, a former basketball player, while Jack, who is not a professional basketball player, underwent intensive training to fit the role.

Despite being a first-time actor, Walls expressed his admiration for Jack and noted that he was naturally talented. He added that they frequently talked, and he was always there to help throughout the filming process.

Overall, Jack’s performance as an actor has been well received by his fans and critics as he continues to showcase his versatility in the entertainment industry.
