In the Season 3 premiere of The Kardashians on Hulu, Khloe Kardashian opened up about how she is struggling to form a bond with her newborn son, Tatum, who was born to a surrogate last year in July. Khloe, who co-parents the baby with her ex-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, admitted to having a hard time accepting the reality of not carrying the baby herself.
Khloe Kardashian was captured spending some quality time with her sister, Kim Kardashian, and Scott Disick. Kim, who has also been through the surrogate process for two out of four of her children, acknowledged the difference in bonding when carrying the baby in one’s own body.
Khloe expressed discomfort with the surrogate process and felt guilty for the lack of emotional connection she felt towards her child, stating “I felt that it was such a transactional experience because it’s not about him.”
Compounding the situation was the revelation that Tristan Thompson had an affair with Maralee Nichols and fathered a child with her, which Khloe learned of shortly after the embryo had been transferred to the surrogate’s body.
