Khloé Kardashian has opened up about her struggles to connect with her newborn son Tatum, who was born via surrogate in July 2022. In her candid confession, Khloé sheds light on the importance of honesty in conversations surrounding surrogacy.

Khloé Kardashian, who also has a 5-year-old daughter named True with Tristan Thompson, spoke about the “mind f–k” of the surrogate process and her sense of detachment. She even expressed that it didn’t truly feel like she was having a child until she arrived at the hospital.

While spending time with her sister Kim Kardashian, who has also had two children via surrogacy, in the season three premiere episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, Khloé discussed the “transactional” experience of surrogacy. She revealed her surprise and emphasized the need for honesty in conversations surrounding surrogacy. According to her, it’s not a negative experience, but rather a different one that deserves more open dialogue.

Despite having a tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship with Tristan Thompson, Khloé and Thompson reunited during the COVID-19 pandemic and secretly pursued surrogacy to have their second child. However, their happiness was short-lived after Thompson’s paternity scandal with Maralee Nichols in December 2021, when it was revealed he fathered a child with her.
