The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted hot and dry weather across most cities in the country. Karachi will remain hot but partly cloudy and humid.

The maximum temperature in the port city is expected to fluctuate between 34°C to 36°C, while the minimum temperature will remain at 28°C. The current humidity ratio in the city is around 60%, while winds from the southwest are blowing at a speed of 18 kilometres per hour.

Earlier, the Met department forecasted “very hot” weather in Sindh’s central and upper districts, while Karachi was expected to remain warm and humid. The PMD has predicted that the mercury will likely hover between 32°C to 36°C during Sunday and Monday.

The PMD has warned that the maximum temperatures will fluctuate between 43°C to 45°C in cities across the southern province such as Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushahro Feroze, Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur and Sanghar.

In Quetta, the weather will remain clear, dry and moderate. The maximum temperature is expected to fluctuate between 35°C to 37°C while the minimum temperature in Balochistan’s provincial capital was recorded at 15°C.

The weather is clear and moderate in the province’s northern areas; however, the southern and central regions are gripped by heat. Many areas across Balochistan are expected to remain hot and dry with dusty winds likely to blow during the day across most districts.

In the province’s Kalat district, the temperature was recorded at 17°C while it remained moderately hot in Jiwani and Turbat, with temperature recorded at 23°C and 26°C, respectively. Sibi was the second hottest city in the country with a maximum temperature recorded at 47°C.

The Met Office has stated that Peshawar will experience hot and dry weather today, with the temperature expected to rise up to 42°C.
