Officials visit pumping stations to monitor supply of water

The Water Management Wing officials of the civic agency have started visiting water pumping stations to monitor water supply to the residents of Islamabad. The high-ups of the agency have directed the wing to use all available resources to ensure uninterrupted water supply to both rural and urban areas of the city and to repair the main water supply lines and plug leakages. The Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) is also providing its services to ensure quality drinking water in rural and urban areas through an effective reporting mechanism.

The Water Management Wing is making a contingency plan to ensure an undisrupted water supply in case of power load shedding, particularly through the tubewells. They intend to keep power generators available at all the tubewells so that they can continue to supply water during power outages.

The civic agency will prepare a water supply schedule in consultation with the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) to reduce the impact of electricity load shedding on the water supply system. The agency has also completed upgrading water work systems and repairing faulty water tankers to functional conditions.
