According to Pedro Pascal, the star of The Mandalorian, he spent more time providing voice-over work for his character than physically wearing the suit on set. During a roundtable conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Pascal, who also stars in The Last of Us, admitted that the on-screen portrayal of the bounty hunter Din Djarin was mainly done by body doubles and stuntmen.
“There was an extended amount of experimentation, being in the suit for a lot of it, and frankly, my body wasn’t up for the task as far as, like, the four months of it,” Pascal revealed. However, he did spend a significant amount of time in the suit, and they have since developed ways to work around it. This has provided Pascal with an opportunity to explore other roles.
The actor explained the challenges he faced working on a production that required a certain level of attention to detail. He had to learn to let go of certain things, such as fitting perfectly into the larger picture. Despite that, Pascal admits that he still wonders how he would look in the suit.
