Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of promoting unrest in the country by spreading fabricated propaganda on social media to turn the nation into a situation like Sudan.

While speaking to the media in Narowal, he stated, “PTI’s social media team wanted to turn the country into Sudan through their fabricated campaigns,” and added that PTI should be ashamed of their “anti-state” activities.

Iqbal started by saying that the money that came from Britain was transferred to the Supreme Court’s account, referring to the Al-Qadir Trust case. He went on to say that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had embezzled Rs60 billion, and this had been exposed.

He criticized the former premier and claimed that he had caused chaos in the country. He called on PTI supporters to think carefully about the development work the party had done in Pakistan so far.

The minister further stated that the country was facing an acute crisis today. He accused Khan of destroying every institution and the country’s economy. He also claimed that no shots were fired during a hybrid war, and its target was to divide institutions.

Regarding the dissolution of the Punjab assembly in January, Iqbal said Khan was given permission to complete the task. He added that the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s protest in Islamabad against relief given to Khan would take place in front of the Supreme Court the following day.

Despite protests against the discrimination towards other political groups in the country, the minister has assured that the government respects Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial and the Supreme Court.
