Acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino has recently announced the death of Rick Dalton, which was portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2019 film ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’. The ‘Video Archives’ podcast, hosted by Tarantino’s close collaborator and writer Roger Avary, tweeted, stating that “We are saddened by the news of the passing of actor Rick Dalton, best known for his roles in the hit TV series Bounty Law and The Fireman trilogy.”
The tweet also shared some details about Dalton’s passing, stating that “Rick passed away peacefully in his home in Hawaii and is survived by his wife, Francesca. RIP Rick Dalton 1933-2023.” Another tweet mentions a memorial episode designed by Quentin that features some of Rick’s best roles.
It is important to note that Rick Dalton is a fictional character portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in Tarantino’s last movie. The character in the film lived in the same neighborhood as Sharon Tate and Roman Polanski and eventually burned one of Charles Manson’s followers with a flamethrower in the movie’s climactic scene.
