Samuel L. Jackson and Boyd Holbrook are teaming up to headline the upcoming death-row drama film “Last Meals”. The movie tells the tale of Walter, a former chef at the White House, who’s now responsible for preparing the final meals of death-row convicts in a high-security prison. Holbrook portrays Reed, an inmate who goes on a hunger strike while under Walter’s watch. Andrew Levitas will direct the film while Nicholls Fellowship winner Justin Piasecki penned the script. Deadline reported about the movie.

The production was previously delayed due to the pandemic and has undergone some changes, with Jackson replacing Delroy Lindo in the role originally assigned to him.

Renée Tab, Christopher Tuffin, Morgan Freeman, Gary Lucchesi, Lori McCreary, and Michael McKay will produce and co-finance “Last Meals.”

Samuel L. Jackson is a renowned American actor and producer, known for his exceptional work in the film industry that spans over several years. He has acted in more than a hundred movies, including “Die Hard with a Vengeance” (1995), “Unbreakable” (2000), “Shaft” (2000), and “Django Unchained.”

In addition to his involvement in “Last Meals,” Samuel L. Jackson is also preparing to reprise his role as Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He will be seen in the upcoming Disney+ series “Secret Invasion,” alongside Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, and Ben Mendelsohn in co-starring roles.
