Former head coach of Pakistan cricket team, Saqlain Mushtaq, has asked former pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar to return the money that he had borrowed from him years ago.
Speaking during a television program, Saqlain also talked about his relationship with Shoaib Akhtar, stating that they have been friends since childhood and used to visit each other’s houses and have meals together. Saqlain also revealed that he used to call Shoaib Akhtar by nicknames, “Shoaibi” and “Shoaib actor”.
While laughing, Saqlain recalled the time when Shoaib borrowed Rs. 250 from him, which he still hasn’t returned. According to Saqlain, they were sharing a two-room house in Karachi with 25 other people, and they did not have a daily allowance at that time. Saqlain had only Rs. 250 left from the amount of Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 2,000 that they used to leave home with. Shoaib, after watching a movie, decided to buy new pants and shirt, leaving Saqlain with no money left.
Despite all these years, Shoaib Akhtar hasn’t returned the money he borrowed from Saqlain. Furthermore, Saqlain mentioned that Shoaib Akhtar was very fond of shopping, and other team players were also afraid that he might ask them for money.
