The highly anticipated movie Don 3, which stars Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, is set to start production soon. According to producer Ritesh Sidhwani, the action-thriller is currently in its final scripting stage, which is being handled by Farhan Akhtar.
The co-producer mentioned to news agency PTI that they won’t be starting anything until Farhan completes writing it. He said, “Right now, he is in the phase of completing the script… Even all of us are eagerly waiting to see Don.”
In 2006, Excel Entertainment bought the rights to remake the classic 1978 movie Don, which originally starred Amitabh Bachchan. Shah Rukh Khan played the lead character in the 2006 remake, named Don: The Chase Begins. The movie also featured Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Boman Irani, and Kareena Kapoor in a guest appearance.
Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are partners in the production company Excel Entertainment, which is also the production house for the third installment of the Don series.
Currently, Ritesh is focused on promoting Excel Entertainment’s upcoming web series titled Dahaad. The crime drama features an investigation led by sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati, played by Sonakshi Sinha, and takes place in a small town in Rajasthan. The eight-episode series also stars Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah. Dahaad is produced by Excel Media & Entertainment and Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s Tiger Baby and is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
