Simon Pegg has a strict policy of not discussing Scientology with his friend Tom Cruise.
During an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, the 53-year-old actor explained, “I don’t ask him about stuff like that because I feel that would be me abusing my privileged access that I have to him, you know what I mean?”
Tom Cruise and Simon Pegg have a simple and amicable relationship, with Cruise saying, “We’re friends.” Cruise is renowned for being a member of the Church of Scientology, a controversial religion. The church and its leader, David Miscavige, have been accused of bullying and intimidating critics and journalists, isolating members from their loved ones and milking money from supporters.
