During an interview with The New York Times, Ruck expressed that he considers the show’s screenplay as “the best writing” he has ever encountered “week after week.” However, he also revealed that he intends to work on something else after playing Connor Roy for six years, as well as doing junior characters for money in the past to stay relevant in the industry.
Despite the show’s success, there are still those who are not impressed with it, including British commentator Piers Morgan, who recently shared his criticism on Twitter. He stated that “Succession without Logan Roy sucks” and that he’s “struggling to maintain interest.”
