In a recent interview with SiriusXM’s TODAY Radio Show, Taylor Lautner shared that he cherishes his memories of the Twilight era. He said that he only has good memories after taking a long break away from the spotlight.
When asked about his feelings towards The Twilight Saga now, Lautner responded, “Now, only fond memories. But I do think that I also needed the space.”
Lautner spoke about feeling resentful for missing out on a normal life because of his overnight fame from the Twilight movies. “There was a little bit of, like, resentment, deep in there, going like ‘I wish I could have experienced this part of normalcy,'” he revealed. However, he quickly added, “Now, I wouldn’t change it, but I think it needed the growth to get to that place.”
Lautner humorously revealed his wife’s crush on Robert Pattinson, who played Edward in the Twilight movies. When asked if she had a crush on her husband when watching the movies, Lautner quipped, “The problem is when she was watching it she was saying it about Edward.”
Lautner has been open about the challenges he faced during his journey with fame. In a previous interview with People in Jan 2022, he mentioned, “I started acting when I was a child, and it was kind of non-stop until I was in my early to mid-twenties. I did miss out on a lot of just normal-life things, like going to college. I wanted to take a step back and enjoy life and spend some time with my family and friends. And I met my [then fiancée] out of it, so it all worked out.”
