Taylor Swift is standing by her boyfriend Matty Healy despite concerns from some fans over his past misbehaviour.
The singer of the hit song “Anti-Hero” reportedly believes in her relationship with The 1975 frontman and feels that he has changed a lot over the years. She sees “potential” in their relationship, according to an insider.
“This is not a rebound for Taylor,” the insider confirmed. “She’s into Matty and vice versa, and the chemistry between them is off the charts!”
It has been clarified that there was no overlap between Swift’s previous relationship with Joe Alwyn and her current one with Healy. Alwyn is reportedly trying not to be bitter about the situation.
The rock star has had some controversial moments in his past, including struggles with drug addiction and making remarks that have offended people. He has also been known to behave inappropriately with fans during concerts.
However, Swift knows about his past issues and believes she can handle them. “She absolutely sees potential in this,” the insider said. “Matty’s pretty darn charming, and Taylor’s friends all approve. She knows all about his former issues; she can deal with that.”
The two were first linked romantically in 2014, but nothing serious ever came of it. Now, the timing is right, and they are not hesitating to be open about their relationship.
“The timing for Taylor and Matty was never right, but it is now,” the insider said. “They’ve known each other for years. Matty’s a rock star, and she likes that about him, but he’s not the same guy he was nine years ago. Matty’s grown up a lot, and they seem to be a good match.”
