Phillip Schofield, the co-host of the popular morning show This Morning, has resigned from his position due to a reported feud with his co-host Holly Willoughby.
According to sources, the two hosts had a private chat where they agreed that Phillip would step away from the show. However, in exchange for his departure, he asked to get a solo gig and be considered for other shows like Dancing On Ice.
Reportedly, Holly gave Phillip an ultimatum: either he would leave the show or she would. After presenting the show for 21 years, Phillip agreed to step down. He thanked his fans for their support in a social media post but did not mention Holly anywhere, causing speculation about the status of their long-term friendship.
Moreover, their friendship is said to be in tatters as Phillip did not inform Holly about his brother’s child sexual abuse case, for which he received a twelve-year sentence.
According to The Mirror, Phillip’s fate was sealed on Friday when he was informed that he had to leave. His friends claim that he feels he has been hung out to dry. However, he has managed to retain his roles on The Cube, the British Soap Awards, and Dancing on Ice, with or without Holly.
