Pakistani leg-spinner Usama Mir had an eventful debut with Worcestershire Rapids in the ongoing T20 Vitality Blast on Wednesday. He played an instrumental role in leading the team to victory against hosts Northamptonshire Steelbacks by a 15-run margin.

On his debut, Mir showcased an outstanding all-round performance by scoring 20 runs on just seven deliveries, including two maximums, and remained unbeaten in the first innings. Furthermore, he proved to be lethal with the ball in the second innings by taking three wickets in three overs for only 21 runs.

The ongoing T20 Vitality Blast is the 21st edition of the tournament and features nine Pakistani players, such as Shaheen Shah Afridi, Hasan Ali, Shan Masood, Shadab Khan, Zafar Gohar, Haider Ali, Zaman Khan, and Naseem Shah. However, Naseem has joined Leicestershire County for a short stint as a replacement for Afghanistan seamer Naveen-ul-Haq.
