The latest features updates for instant messaging app WhatsApp include four new features that have been rolled out to beta testers currently. The latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS has been updated with these new features, and some of them are also available for the Android beta version.
Silence Unknown Callers
The new feature allows users to have more control over the calls they receive as they can silence unknown callers. The option is available in the privacy section in settings under the calls tab. By enabling this feature, users can limit spam calls, providing them with more privacy and security.
Group Mentions
This feature allows community admins to enter a mention of their groups within the community announcement group. It helps highlight announcements to community members.
Community Entry Point
The new button placed within the header enables users to open community groups directly within the community announcement group. The creator of the community can quickly create a group by tapping that button.
Message Editing
WhatsApp now allows users to edit texts messages within 15 minutes of sending them. Though users can edit messages an unlimited number of times, they cannot edit messages sent from another device. This feature is intended to correct any typing errors.
