WhatsApp continues to upgrade its desktop application, and is now rolling out a new feature that allows for group calls in macOS version of the app. This popular messaging app has recently improved icons, app headers, and even added a new green tint colour to its user interface.

According to WaBetaInfo, this new feature is currently available to beta testers and is expected to be made available to more users in the coming weeks. Previously, it was not possible to make a group call in WhatsApp’s desktop version, but with this update, the call buttons are now enabled, making group calls accessible to all users.

For macOS users, a new icon has been added in the chat header that combines both group calling and video calling in one button. Users can create a group call by selecting people from the calls tab, and up to seven people can be selected initially, with up to 32 people eventually joining the call. Note that the limit may differ for video calls in groups.

WhatsApp remains one of the world’s favorite messaging apps and looks set to continue improving its user experience across multiple platforms.
