Fans of WWE wrestler Randy Orton will be disappointed to hear that the 14-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion may not be returning to the ring anytime soon. Randy Orton has been out of action since injuring his back in November 2021, and there are now doubts whether he will ever return after his father Bob Orton Jr gave an update on his son’s health.
Bob Orton Jr provided an update on Randy’s health in a recent interview. While Randy is currently undergoing training, his father is unsure whether he will ever make a return to the WWE, saying “If he feels like going back or he feels like he’s ready to go back, I think he might. Then again, he’s pretty well taken care of. I don’t think he needs to. And I think the doctors have told him not to. But Randy will do what Randy wants to do.”
Randy’s father acknowledged that the desire to return to the ring is a common mindset for many wrestlers who find it difficult to quit before they feel their time is up. “Wrestling, you know when you get in there and you got some people going crazy, you just love it. So it’s hard to leave,” he said.
It should be noted that in a recent interview with Fox 2 Now, Randy Orton said that if he knew the toll his finishing move, the RKO, would take on his body, he would have chosen a different finishing move. “I kind of wish I could go back in time and create a finishing move that didn’t entail me jumping up as high as I can and landing on my back. After doing that a couple of thousand times over the last few decades, I’m starting to feel it,” said the 43-year-old wrestler.
It remains to be seen whether Randy Orton will make a return to the WWE, but for now, his fans will have to wait and see if the wrestler has what it takes to step back into the ring.
